We had a long weekend in the end of February for the National and Liberation day of Kuwait. Of many things that we had planned, picnic to Wafra was one. We visited Yasmin Farms, owned by the same family as the renowned wholesale supermarket, The Sultan Center in Kuwait. The farm is widely spread across acres and a perfect place for a picnic.
The farm location is on Google Maps and is only a few minutes drive from the Wafra Farmers Market. There is a free entry to the farm until certain point and to visit the cattle farms there are tickets at a cost of 3 KD. The farm has a small cafeteria, a store selling their fresh produce and a wide variety of dairy products and play area for kids.
The Facebook page of the Yasmin farm as all the details about their open timing, ticket prices and the location.
It is very surprising to see how well they have maintained the place in midst of a desert. Would be interesting to know how the farm is during the months of summer when the temperatures are soaring high.
What is a picnic without packed food? We packed tomato rice, potato fry, salad and some snacks. But it was fun cooking at friend’s place, packing with whatever we had, that good old Chennimalai bedsheet and having food under a tree shade got us all nostalgic! We bought kulfi from the farm’s store for dessert.

If you are in Kuwait and planning to spend a day outdoors, Yasmin farm is a must visit. And plan to visit soon because #summeriscoming !
