What is your cake type? Simple flavored cakes or frosted cakes? I am all for cakes without any frosting and very midly sweetened ones; the ones that you can have with a mug of coffee or tea. I spend quite sometime in searching recipes that don’t involve too many steps. I love recipes that help you bake a cake with what you have in the pantry and within no time.
No mess – 5 ingredients which are readily available and baked right away.
The original recipe was posted in 2006 and it says the recipe spread like a wild fever. I am sure the world doesn’t want a thing to spread like a fever right now, except for some hope and positivity 🙂
Below are the changes I made to the original recipe in the below link.
- I didn’t soak the dates in warm milk but I soaked in hot water for about 30 minutes and ground to a paste by adding a cup of milk.
- I used brown sugar instead jaggery and reduced to 1/2 cup and used the normal atta instead AP flour.
The cake was very soft with the right amount of sweetness. I am already looking forward for the tea time for the next few days!
